There are some differences between the application of silicon carbide in steelmaking and ferrosilicon

1. Silicon carbide has a very high dissolution point, which is not dissolved slowly in molten iron for 20 minutes.

2. Silicon carbide continuously provides silicon atoms to the surrounding liquid phase and carbon atoms during the dissolution process.

3. After a lot of experiments, silicon carbide is dissolved in molten iron and forms many rare graphite particles around it. Although the graphite will be redissolved later, it forms many carbon atom groups, which are the basis of graphite nucleation later.

4. Silicon carbide ball treatment of nodular iron in steel making is very beneficial to the formation of nodular iron structure.
